Easy Peasy is packed full of inspiring and simple activities for every curious young gardener, whether you have a backyard, a balcony, or a windowsill.

You can experience the wonders of nature by planting a seed and watching it grow into a flower, by picking delicious fresh berries in summer or making a bird feeder to help hungry small birds in the spring. Why not make a terrarium in a jar for your bedroom or keep a wildlife diary and observe the beauty of nature up close and personal?

Wherever you live and no matter what time of year, Easy Peasy invites you to dig your hands in the dirt and explore the world around you!

Description

An introduction to easy gardening so you can grow everywhere and anywhere. Whether you live in the city or the countryside, there are plenty of places you can plant and grow. For a new generation of green fingers there are different ways to bring nature into the home. Make your own pots, build balcony boxes, create your own bird feeders and even get friendly with worms! Each activity has been carefully chosen to create living, renewable and sustainable environments for kids and their families. Each activity has been carefully written by Kirsten Bradley, a leading practitioner in permaculture for kids and co-founder of Milkwood permaculture farm in Australia. The simple steps and beautiful spot illustrations make activities fun and easy to follow. The book will also feature non-activity spreads explaining the importance of why and how nature works. Illustrated by Aitch, a Romanian artist whose folkloric illustrations pay homage to vintage botanical books while giving each page a sense of modern magic.

About the Author

Kirsten Bradley and Nick RitarKirsten Bradley and Nick Ritar left the city to start a small farm called Milkwood 10 years ago, with a dream of living simply and within their means. Since then, they’ve been growing food, cultivating community and sharing skills for down-to-earth living wherever they’ve lived or travelled.

They are passionate about re-skilling households and communities to create resilient, low-impact and positive futures that are accessible to all. Together, they’ve spent the last decade farming and educating thousands of students in permaculture skills and design. They now live with their son Asher on a small permaculture homestead in Victoria where they grow food, milk goats, keep bees, forage, teach courses and write books. www.Milkwood.net
